How it Started
Jason Hunt moved to Guelph in 2018 and realized that the town lacked what other communities had. He founded a Facebook group for like-minded dads, where they could share ideas without fear of judgment or ridicule; a safe space for full hearted discussions about everything from raising children right down to their own romantic relationships with each other while being able to ask any question no matter how daft it might seem! Tim Girard was the first Dad to join and in a matter of days after inception became the rally-man behind the group and the groups first admin.
There are few things more important to a dad than finding someone who gets them. Well, other than their wife of course! That’s why we have The Guelph Dads – so you can come here and talk about your feelings without feeling embarrassed or alone in this immense world that is full up with guys like us (daddies). We’re not just some social media group; instead it has become an online safe space for people looking to find support through sharing experiences while also providing helpful advice from real life experts or exploring services from trusted local vendors.
The growth of the group has been spectacular. In just a few years, it’s gained an impressive number of followers who are all looking for a place where they can connect with other like-minded individuals in their community – dads! With new admins added this year (Bear Tebo & Matthew Webster), there is no slowing us down as we continue on towards building something bigger than ourselves; stronger ties between our village communities through bonds formed over shared experiences.
The Guelph Dads is a community group for fathers in Guelph and the surrounding areas who are committed to being the best fathers and community support group they can be.
We support each other in our journey as dads and strive to be role models for our children. We believe that by being the best dads we can be, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our children and in our community. Our mission is to provide support, advice and friendship to other dads in Guelph. We also aim to promote fatherhood and help dads become more involved in their children’s lives. By working together, we can create a community of dads that is strong, supportive and proud.
As key supporters of our community and fellow dads, we strive to become a recognizable and valued support group in the community.
Our vision for the Guelph dads community group is to be a supportive and inclusive space for dads of all walks of life. We want to be a place where dads can come to connect with each other and share our experiences. We believe that by supporting each other, we can create a stronger community. We are committed to being there for each other, and we will work tirelessly to make our vision a reality.
